Modern web applications don't have to be mysterious, and IBM i developers already possess many of the skills needed to build them.

In this two-part seminar, we'll start by creating a simple Single Page Application (SPA) from scratch using modern web technologies. Along the way, we'll explore the basic building blocks of a web application, including HTML, CSS, components, state management, and API communication.

In the second session, we'll bring the application to life by exposing IBM i business data through Integrated Web Services (IWS). We'll build working API endpoints using both RPG and SQL, then connect the web application to those services in real time. By the end of the seminar, attendees will understand the complete path from browser to IBM i and leave with a practical foundation for building modern web applications powered by IBM i data...

As a COMMON Speaker of Merit and Bronze medal winner, Patrick speaks at conferences and user groups across the country. He also serves as Vice President Programs for the OCEAN User Group.
