Charles Guarino believes in the “power” of IBM Power Systems. His career reflects his dedication and interest in bringing the platform and its solutions to others and as a result has been recognized as an IBM Champion. He is a member of COMMON’s Speaker Excellence Hall of Fame and a proud recipient of the Al Barsa Memorial Scholarship Award. Additionally, he participates on COMMON’s Strategic Education Team. Other professional endeavors have included the roles of President and monthly Q&A host for many years of the Long Island System User’s Group LISUG (www.lisug.org) Simon Hutchinson has been writing his highly acclaimed IBM i blog, RPGPGM.COM, for eleven years sharing his knowledge, experience, and giving many detailed examples of the latest RPG, SQL, and CL. His work has led him to be recognized by IBM as an IBM Champion for Power and IBM i Community Advocate. He is a subject matter expert for COMMON North America, awarded the John Earle Speaker Scholarship in 2023 in recognition for his contribution to the community, and Gold medal speaker. Since its founding Simon has been the president of the Central Texas IBM i User Group (CTXiUG). Alan Seiden helps organizations enrich their IBM i applications with APIs, open source technologies, Db2 for i, and RPG business logic. He and his team provide large and small IT teams with strategic advice, hands-on development, and support. Recognized as an IBM Champion, Alan cultivates a strong, resilient IBM i community by fostering new talent for IBM i as well as new open source options.
He mentors the next generation in extending the capabilities of the IBM i platform with their open source skills. He has also led the adoption of modern PHP with Seiden’s PHP+ and Smart Support; co-developed the popular PHP Toolkit with IBM; and was the first to offer full-stack support for PHP, Python, and Node.js on IBM i. An award-winning speaker, Alan has been called “the performance guru of PHP on IBM i.” He shares his expertise regularly through his blog as well as at conferences and user groups such as COMMON PowerUp, MAGiC, the Northeast User Groups Conference, OCEAN, WMCPA, and COMMON Europe.
In his spare time, Alan plays the trombone and practices the Feldenkrais Method® of Somatic Education.

During her career, Carol has architected security solutions for Fortune 100 companies as well as small and medium-sized organizations. Carol is passionate about sharing her knowledge of IBM i Security and helping clients make improvements to their IBM i Security one step at a time. Carol is currently IBM i Security SME and Senior Advisor to Kisco Systems. Previously, she co-founded two companies, SkyView Partners, and most recently, DXR Security, a firm specializing in performing IBM i penetration tests. Carol has been an IBM Power Champion since 2018. Joseph Wright is a seasoned IBM i programmer with over a decade of experience in RPG programming. At the age of 18, he started his journey in the IBM i world and has been constantly learning and absorbing knowledge since then. Joseph currently runs Wright 400 Inc (@Wright4i), a consulting company for IBM i, where he helps companies modernize their RPG code and leverage the latest technologies. Joseph is a strong supporter of open-source programming languages and believes in the power of community-driven innovation. He has been involved in major modernization projects at several companies with great success, demonstrating how modern RPG programming can be efficient, easier to learn for junior programmers, and meet all the goals demanded by organizations.
